I decided to pursue veterinary medicine because of the special connection I felt with animals from a young age. As a child, some of my favorite activities included riding horses, nursing injured and orphaned wildlife to health, and helping homeless pets join a family. Veterinary medicine was a natural path for me.
I graduated from Appalachian State University and earned my DVM from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, I joined a large 24-hour veterinary hospital near Greensboro, North Carolina. During this time, I discovered my passion for emergency and critical care medicine and enjoyed my role as the Director of Emergency Services for five years.
I moved back to my home town of Chapel Hill in 2012 and transitioned from emergency medicine to primary care. I joined the Park Veterinary Hospital team and embraced their high-quality preventive medicine approach to primary care, surgery and dentistry. In 2015, I opened Park Vet’s sister hospital in Chapel Hill, Meadowmont Animal Hospital. I cherish the relationships I have developed with each patient, their families and the surrounding community.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, two daughters, and mischievous dog Jack. I love running, cycling and visiting the mountains and beaches of North Carolina.
